Mildura hosts the 2008 ‘Australasian Powerboat Championships’

Today saw the first day of racing in the Australasian Powerboat Championships and although the weather could have been much better.
The freezing wind and patches of rain didn’t stop people from turning up though.

There was a strong contingent of people from out of town, but there was also a significant local representation.

With all the usual vendors onsite, catering was more that taken care of.

This is just a short post and I will update this post with some more details when the event has ended and the results posted, keep your eyes peeled and if you have a few spare hours, head down to the Mildura & District Ski Club for a gander at some of the fastest racing on the river.
